The charge, the entry, the register

Forms with conditional logic, payments and quotes, worked from your own numbers

The owner of a small business who runs their own WordPress site meets the same three questions every time a form goes up: what the payment form will actually charge once tax and the processor's cut are counted, how many entries a contact form will produce from the traffic its page gets, and how many fields and steps a quote form needs before it starts losing people.

The owner of a small US business who runs their own WordPress site and needs it to take something in through a form: a contact enquiry, a quote request, a payment or deposit, a restaurant order, an RSVP, a new-client intake, a multi-step form whose later questions depend on the earlier answers

Not a developer building custom fields or a theme, not a form plugin vendor's customer comparing add-ons and licenses, not a marketer buying address verification, not a web host's customer, not a survey researcher or an HR department, and not a person filling in somebody else's form

One place for every form your site takes something in through

The charge
The payment form costed as what it charges and what reaches you, before it goes on the page A price on a form is not what the form charges. Sales tax, an option fee and the processor's percentage and fixed fee decide the figure the buyer sees and the smaller figure that reaches your account. Shortcodo works both from your own rates and keeps each version you tried.
The entry
Every entry with its timestamp, its status and, where the form took money, its payment Entries fail by scattering: a quote request in one inbox, a deposit in the processor's dashboard, an RSVP in a spreadsheet somebody exported once. The register lists each entry against the form and the sender, with its status from new to closed, so the reply happens the same day rather than the same week.
The register
Forms, logic, shortcodes and entries on one list your bookkeeper and your designer can read Most sites keep their forms in a plugin's settings screen that one person understands and their entries wherever the notification email landed. Pro keeps the form with its conditional logic and the shortcode that places it, beside every entry it took, so the people helping you see the same file you do.

Should you buy a full form plugin or a hosted form builder instead?

If you want a drag-and-drop builder with hundreds of field types, a marketplace of add-ons and a license renewed every year, buy a full WordPress form plugin or a hosted form builder and use this site for the arithmetic they will not do for you. Shortcodo is for the owner who is doing the work: pricing the payment form, designing the contact form, sizing the quote form, and needing the entries kept straight. It is priced for that and does nothing else.

Shortcodo A full form plugin or hosted form builder
What you pay $9 a month, flat, for your site and everyone reading its entries, however many forms it runs A yearly license per site or a monthly tier priced by forms, entries or seats, with add-ons on top
What is free All three sheets, the whole calculation, no account and no limit A free tier with a form or entry cap; the payment field and the conditional logic are usually behind the license
Where the entries live In one register against the form and the sender, with status and payment, exportable at any time In the plugin's entries table or the builder's dashboard, kept while the license is paid
Your data afterwards Export every form, entry and payment at any time and for 90 days after you cancel An export while the license is active; the retention terms are the vendor's

Plugin and builder prices change with every renewal cycle and are not repeated here. The only external figure on this site is the IRS written-acknowledgement threshold quoted on the donation form answer, read on 2026-09-05 from irs.gov and recorded in research/data/claims.tsv with its retrieval date; every other figure is the three sheets' own arithmetic.

Tools

Work the form out before you build it

Shortcodo is three free worksheets and one paid register for that owner. The payment form calculator takes the line items, an option fee, the sales tax rate and the processor's rate and returns what the form charges, what the processor keeps and what reaches your account.

The contact form design sheet takes the fields, the required ones and the page's visitors and returns the seconds to fill and the entries a month. The request a quote form sheet takes the services and their questions and returns the fields, the steps and the work quoted. All three compute in the page with no account.

Shortcodo Pro keeps every form you build and every entry it takes, with the shortcode beside it

The sheet works one form out this afternoon. Pro keeps the form, its logic and its shortcode beside every entry it takes, so the second form you build starts from the first instead of from a blank page, and no entry is ever lost in an inbox.

  • Download the sheet as a file for your designer
  • Send it without the Shortcodo watermark across it
  • Come back to this form's sheet with every figure still in it
  • Put your own business name on the sheets your bookkeeper and designer see
  • Reply to a sender from the entry without leaving the register
  • Connect your own processor so a payment form's entries carry the payment
  • Push paid entries across to your books as sales
