The quote request form, and the day after it is sent

A quote request form is the form a service business earns its work through, and its two failures are opposite: too few questions, so the quote cannot be written without a call, and too many, so the request is never sent. The way out is to ask the questions every quote needs of everyone, and the questions one service needs only of the person who picked it, which is what conditional logic is for. This page builds the quote request form that way, splits it into three steps a phone can finish, and works the fields, the seconds and the value of a request on the free request a quote form sheet, then turns to the part that decides whether the form pays: what happens the day after.

The fields every quote needs, and the ones one service needs

Name, email, phone, the job address and a notes box are needed whatever was picked: five base fields. The service dropdown comes first on the second step and reveals that service's three questions, size, material, access, or whatever prices the job. On the request a quote form sheet four services with three questions each is 17 fields built and 8 seen, 72 seconds at nine seconds a field, about 3 fields on each of three steps: contact, service and its questions, address and notes.

Required marks and the upload

Required: one way to reach them, the service, and the address. Not required: the notes, and the photo upload on the last step, which for any job priced by sight shortens the quote more than it lengthens the form. The last step shows what was entered before send, and the confirmation says when the quote will arrive, because the visitor has the next business's form open in another tab.

The day after: what a request is worth

Thirty requests a month at a $650 average job is $19,500 quoted through the form; at a 30% win rate that is 9 jobs and $5,850 won, or $195 of won work per request, and 600 minutes a month writing quotes. A request answered in a day wins more than one answered in three, so the reply time is the figure the form is measured on after the finish rate. In Shortcodo Pro each request is an entry with the service picked, the answers, the photo and a status from new to quoted to won, and the time from new to quoted is on the list.

Questions people ask about quote request form

Should the quote request form ask for a budget?

Only if you price by it. Ask for the size and the material instead; the price follows from your rates, and the sheet counts every field as seconds and finish rate.

How is this different from the online quote form guide?

The guide on this site covers building the form; this page covers the request after it is sent, the follow-up and what each request is worth.

Does Shortcodo write the quote?

No. It sizes the form, keeps each request as an entry with its status, and records when the quote went out. The price and the terms are yours.
