- What the form charges
- $243.56
- Subtotal of the lines and the option
- $225
- Sales tax on the subtotal
- $18.56
These sheets have no constants. Every number is worked from the figures you enter: the prices, the quantities, the option fee, your sales tax rate, your processor's rate and fixed fee, the fields, the seconds per field, the visitors, the start and finish rates, the services, the questions, the requests, the win rate and the job value, with the arithmetic printed beside each answer. The defaults are one site owner's worked example, not a tax rate this site publishes and not a processor's price list.
An order form is the form on your own site that lists what you sell as lines with a quantity each, adds the options that change the price, takes the card and keeps the order as an entry you can work from.

The lines, the quantities and the options
Everything you sell is a line with a unit price and a quantity field, grouped under the headings your customers already know. Options that change the price sit as fees that appear when their box is ticked. Keep the quantities at zero and the form reads as a list rather than a cart, which is what an order form is until a search box is needed.
What the form charges, and what reaches you
Sales tax and the processor's cut are the two figures an order form gets wrong, and both are arithmetic rather than opinion. The free payment form calculator takes the lines, the option fees, your state's rate and your processor's pricing and returns what the customer is charged, what the processor keeps and what lands in the account, before the form goes up.
The order as an entry, not an email
An order that arrives as an inbox message is an order somebody has to retype. In Shortcodo Pro each submission is an entry with its lines, its options, its payment and a status you move from new to fulfilled, and the form's shortcode is kept beside it for the next time the list changes.

What site owners ask before they trust the Order form
Does an order form need a shopping cart?
Not while the list is short enough to read. A cart earns its keep when customers need to search, browse categories or come back to a saved basket; below that an order form with quantity fields is fewer clicks for them and less to maintain for you.
Can the order form take payment?
Yes, through your own processor. What matters before it goes live is the arithmetic: the payment form calculator shows the charge, the processor's cut and what reaches the account, so the total on the confirmation is the total you expected.
Where do the orders go?
To a notification and to the record. The free form works on the page; on Pro every order is kept as an entry with its lines, payment and status, and the whole set exports whenever you want it out.
